Choosing a pool fence installer?
Ask these five questions first.

Some installers quote for PoolPerf®, then put in an imported perforated fence instead. Five questions, asked before you pay a deposit, will tell you which one you are getting.

Five questions for your installer

Put them in an email if you can, so you have the answers in writing.

  1. “Where do you buy the fencing from?”

You want to hear PoolPerf®, direct from us or through one of our Distributors or Trade Partners.

  2. “Who manufactures it?”

Decoview®, in our own factory in Molendinar on the Gold Coast. Any other name means it is not PoolPerf®.

  3. “Do you assemble it?”

If they say yes, it is not PoolPerf®. Every PoolPerf® panel and gate arrives from our factory fully assembled.

  4. “What is the longest panel I can have?”

If the answer is not 3 metres, it is not PoolPerf®. Our panels are made to measure, up to 3 metres long.

  5. “If I choose textured black, is the frame textured black too?”

With PoolPerf®, yes. Some imitation products put a smoother, satin black frame around a textured panel.

Tell your installer you will be checking the badge

Every PoolPerf® gate carries the PoolPerf® plate, marked By Decoview® and AS1926.1 (the Australian Standard for pool fencing). Mention it early: tell your installer you know about the plate, and that you will look for it when the fence goes in. An installer selling the real thing will not mind at all.

  • Make sure your quote and invoice say PoolPerf® by name.
  • Look for the plate on the gate before you make your final payment.

Your invoice is your proof. If it says PoolPerf® and you were given something else, the Australian Consumer Law is on your side: you can ask for a refund, a replacement or compensation, and complain to the QBCC, your fair trading office or a tribunal such as QCAT. What to do, step by step →

Decoview® is serious about protecting its customers and Trade Partners. PoolPerf®, PurePerf®, PerfSafe® and PolyPerf® are registered trade marks, and only Decoview Pty Ltd can authorise their use. Our accredited Trade Partners use them with our permission, because what they install is genuinely ours. What our names mean →

If it is not badged, it is not ours.

The safest choice is an accredited PoolPerf® installer

Our Trade Partners are licensed local installers, accredited by us across eight regions. They buy direct from our factory, they know the pool fence rules in your state, and the finished fence is warranted as a completed job.

Imported perforated fencing is sold through trade suppliers, so any fence contractor can buy it and install it. That is why the questions above matter, whoever you choose.

If your installer is not on our list, that does not always mean they are not genuine. Call us on 1300 332 688, tell us the name of the business, and we will tell you whether they buy their fencing from us.

Seen an installer or an ad passing off another product as PoolPerf®?

Please tell us. Send the name, a link or a screenshot. It helps us protect the next family. A word to installers and tradies: under the Australian Consumer Law, the penalty for a false or misleading representation can reach $2.5 million for an individual, and falsely applying a registered trade mark can be a criminal offence.
